Fire Series

My Fire paintings are inspired by the passionate, powerful igniting energy of the element of fire. The essence of fire is to heat, to transform, to purify and to enlighten. Fire is primordial, essential, (like all of the four elements) and inspirational at the same time. The energy of Fire is alchemical, both constructive and destructive.

This Fire Series is also inspired by Pele, the Hawaiian deity of volcanoes. Pele is recognized as the goddess of volcanoes, Pele is also known for her power and passion. Her home is believed to be the fire pit called Halemaumau crater, at the summit caldera of Kilauea, one of the Earth's most active volcanoes; but her domain encompasses all volcanic activity on the Big Island of Hawaii.
